the Garifuna Ego.

Is destreying the potential, of the garifuna community.
there is no dought that there are , great minds in our community, but our ego,s is bigger than our potential.
I  could assert to this, because for the last 17 years i have been directley involved, in the garifuna organized
movement, I have spoken, one way or the other,with  most of our leaders and have seing how they operate many things
have been acomplish, yet many more could have been, acomplished if it not have been, for the garifuna ego.

Ego, is a great thing but it can hurt, I see garifuna ego, right here in garifunalink. the progressive idealism of a
community lies in the power  of its people, because we have so many powerful people, were not seing or recognising
the potential, of each individual, becuase each individual is tryieng to be, the or the king or queen. the garifuna ego tells our
great leades that, their idea is the best way, of looking at things. this concept of thinking is carried, into the organized
movement, and each organization, competing with each for position of power, causing caous, and after a  of pirod of
time, this causes, a delay in development. everybodies concept and ideas is good.

my biggest, picture of garifuna ego, has been the garifuna coalition, the coalition is big and beautiful word, and I am and
allways been a fan and suporter of the idea, of the idea of the Garifuna Coalition, because I always thought, that a coalition
of all the garifuna organization could realy, impower our community, unfortunatly the, member of the coalitolition, was lead
by individual,s who, lead their own organisations, and their affiliations. based on what side of that affilialiation you belonged to
so, goes the community, so since the garifuna coalition was born, we had many flip flops, in the direction of the garifuna community
I Am sure the garifuna coalition, is going to here for a long time, because the original
founders had a, great concept, but the garifuna ego is powerful, me personally will continue to fallow the concept of the original idea
of the garifuna coalition, and the people that represent the coalition, but will not fallow, any ego,s because they might lead me wrong.

And believe me I am not, trying   to Blame garifuna or members of the garifuna coalition for, any wrong doing, it just that I still
see and feel the, affects of a comminity in movement, being sometimes stagneted, becuase of  people’s Ego’s.

Especial Thanks, to those people that thuoght we could function as a coalition.
I hope and Pray that, the new young leaders are not endawed, with the concept of the past, so that this community.

           This is a call, to all of the people involved, in the Garifuna development movement.
 we are concern, about the development of our, Race and we have one common goal
 the status, of our people in the communities where we Reside, we all might see our
objective, from a diferent point of view, but the objectives are the same, and the word
Garifuna, is the linking force behing the objective, (Garifaduo) as buetifully put by our
people from Belize.
                              The Idea behind Garifuna History, in prospective Or Uraga is to 
focus, on the daily events, that are Happining within the garifuna Diaspara, as part
of a historic development, of a people that have been part of history but, whoes history
Has not, been accaunted for as part, of the word history Development.  this in part do to,
to our own, historical make up, and our own relationship with  History its self. most
of our History is related Orally. based on the dimamics of culture, and its history.
most, of  what we know, about our history was written,by european historians, because
our culture, did no have a riten, form of expresing  its self, most of the information
that we read, to formulate our prospective about ourselves, is from whithin the, ideals
of garifuna knowleage, and expirience is from a european prospective, and sometimes
this, becomes misleading, its from a language trasnsladed point of wiew. which in terms
becomes, conflictive even, to us because is not, related in the conciouses, of the garifuna
culture, which in turn play a role, in the way we relate, with each other. the education
that, we recieve, when we enter school, although is a community oriented, education has 
nothing, to do with the garifuna, way of thinking which, in tern also becomes, conflictive.
 
     Garifuna, History in prospectives( uraga). should enlighten us from a Garifuna to garifuna.
propective, in the way of that,it was practiced by our ancestors, as their history was passed down from
generation to generation, by the way of, oral history practice (Uraga).  even in this modern era
we continue, to face this problem, because the lack, of  much needed, publish information of 
daily, accurances whithin the garifuna communities. since the  event of the internet, this has change a litlle
bit, Starting with The Avila Brothers Garifunaword, who Were, I proudly say, some what
influenced, by yours truely, throught Garifuna Enterprises. this trend, of internet information was fallowed,
by Garinet Global, who were also, directley or indiretley influenced, by Garifuna Enterprises, and there is
Lidani Garifuna Times. Lidani Garifuna times, was a internet Magizine, dedicatet to publishing info,
about, the Garifunas in the U.S.A. Garifuna Americans, Published By Jerry, Our New U.S.A. Political Figure.
Labuga.com. had and is again playing a role, in plublising our, historic development, 
Garifuna Heritage Foundation, led  by Cheryl Norales, and Ronie Figueroa, are also playing a role
in publishing Garifuna history Daily Development. there are many publication, available, to read about
the Garifuna, people this was not the case, in the seventies, through mid nighties, today is  different,
there is more, work to do. so I am incouraging all those, that have something to inform or say not hold
afraid, that it might not be important, or that people, might critisise. uraga is uraga, and we need more
writers, to tell it. so the next Generation will not be ashamed,of themselves and Afraid to say Garifuna nugulla.

 ”Garifunaduo”, is a new Garifuna word, that means living in the Garifua spiritual concious, for the protection and
preserving, the Culture. this word has its roots in the Balisina Community.

      Yes, Mr. Oboma, is the president elect of the, presumed most powerful nation of 
       the world, and we as black people celebrate.  with him goes our hopes and dreams
       of a better world, yes he seems to be the leader that the word, has been waiting  for.      
        we the people, have a obligation to listen to his massage. its not I; its us. he has
         shown us, and told us how its  done all we have to do is fallow the game plan.

                         It,s God, Family, Community, Country, and then, the world.
                      hope, this Great victory, teaches us that, Skin color, has nothing.
                                              to do with, success or failure.

 En febrero, en su fiesta del dia de los Enamorados, Mugama como una Manera para Recaudar
 fondos.  propongo que se Celebre, Como LYDIA’S DAY.
desde este momento, quedamos todos anticipados que ese dia no abra, el porque decir
 no voy, y no puedo participar.  Como mienbra,Original Organisadora de Mugama, pienso que fuese
una exellente ocacion para celebrar sus Contribuciones a la Diospara Latina America, en Esta Gran
ciudad, Neyorquina.

     Yo Personalmente, Conosco a Miss Lydia Sacasa Hill, desde los tempranos, years de los, 7o’s
Desde su llegada, a esta communidad, a travajado en el processo Organisado communitario. no ay duda en mi mente que, aqella Organisacion de de Jovenes, F.U.H. En la cual yo la conosi en Brooklyn fue un factor de Cambio, acia el dessarollo, de nuestra communidad’ al nivel Internacional, sandra colon Tambien, tiene sus raises, en esa organisacion, fue ella quien travajara con Odeco, en el tiempo que, se inisiara la idea de Oneca, fue sandra colon quien introdujo a introdujo, al Dr. waldaba stuward a la communidad Garifuna.  F.U.H. fue liderada. por Efrain Martinez que es Desendiente de la communidad, De punta Gorda Roatan’ todos diran y esto, Que tiene ver con LYDIA.  de tristesa, el Dia Martes 4 de Nov, celebramos  el Dia de cambio mas grande que ha tenido el mundo en Siglos.  Garifunas for Obama, Ayudaron acia el Cambio.  El Martes 11, de noviembre  
escuhamos la noticia, del fallisiminto  de nuesta Hermana, y todos estamos de Luto, pero se 
que, ace  9 dias tambien estaba celebrando, con nosotros.
